Introduction

I am an accomplished software engineer with five years experience working in various languages such as Java, PHP, Visual Basic, C++, FORTRAN and COBOL.  I am presently looking for employment as a Java developer and I am open to moving into the PHP or Android development space as I also have experience working in both.



My experience includes developing web applications using Apache Tomcat as a Web server as well as front end user interface design of Java-based GUI applications.  In addition to debugging and developing code using NetBeans and Eclipse as an integrated development environment (IDE), I designed user interfaces using Java as a Web presentation layer that was deployed on the production server.  I also performed PHP development work using Linux as the operating environment along with relational database technologies such as Lucene Solr and MongoDB and PHPUnit for unit testing.

I worked in backend Java API development in my last role.  I would like to return to the Java development space with plans to learn JQuery, Struts, Spring, MVC and unit testing using JUnit in my next role.  Would like to expand my level of knowledge to include mobile application development and design patterns to include class diagrams, sequence diagrams, triggers, database design as well as using the software development lifecycle.

I will be using this blog for updates on projects I am currently working on as well as tips on how did I made the apps I wrote the way they are.  I also have apps that are published on the Google Play Store that you can check out.
